Avengers: Age of Ultron

The Avengers, made up of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark as Iron Man, Chris Evans' Steve Rogers as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton as Hawkeye, raid a Hydra outpost in the Eastern European nation of Sokovia where Baron Wolfgang von S.

The Maximoff twins Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who has superhuman speed, and Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), who has telekinetic ability, can influence minds, and can project energy, are two of Strucker's experiments that they run into. Rogers apprehends Strucker, and after Wanda instills in him a terrifying image of a grim future, Stark retrieves the sceptre.

Stark and Banner find an artificial intelligence inside the sceptre's jewel when they return to the team's headquarters, Avengers Tower (formerly Stark Tower), and they covertly plot to utilise it to finish Stark's "Ultron" global defence programme. They depart for a victory party to commemorate the recovery of the sceptre after numerous unsuccessful attempts. They are unaware that the programme activates...

James Spader's suddenly sentient Ultron (who believes he must wipe all humanity in order to rescue the Earth) awakens and overwhelms Stark's AI JARVIS (Paul Bettany). Ultron strikes the Avengers as they unwind after their celebration under the guise of one of Stark's robot drones from the Iron Legion. After escaping with the sceptre, Ultron upgrades his basic form and creates an army of robotic drones using the materials in Strucker's headquarters in Sokovia. The Maximoff twins, who hold Stark accountable for their parents' deaths as a result of weaponry made by his business, are encountered and recruited by him after killing Strucker.

To collect Wakandan vibranium, the group travels to the base of armaments dealer Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) in an African shipyard. The Hulk, also known as Banner, then rampages across a nearby city until Stark stops him with his Hulk-buster armour while the Avengers pursue them there. Wanda manages to subjugate everyone of the Avengers except for Stark and Barton with terrifying visions. The team is forced into hiding at Barton's safehouse after a worldwide outcry over the ensuing destruction and the anxieties sparked by Wanda's hallucinations. There, they meet Barton's wife and kids, who had been kept a secret from all of them save Romanoff.

While Romanoff and Banner explore the prospect of fleeing together after realising their attraction to one another, Thor travels to confer with his friend Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) about the meaning of the post-apocalyptic world he saw in his hallucination. Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, who has just arrived, urges the troops to fight back and stop Ultron.

Ultron commands Dr. Helen Cho (Claudia Kim), a close friend and ally of the Avengers, to create a new body for him in Seoul using vibranium and the jewel from the sceptre. Wanda is able to read Ultron's mind when he downloads himself into the artificial body, and she learns of his scheme to wipe out humanity. The Maximoffs, horrified, turn on Ultron and work with Rogers to divert his attention while Romanoff and Barton rescue the artificial body. Romanoff is nonetheless taken prisoner by Ultron as Barton unwillingly returns the body to Stark and Banner at Avengers Tower, where Rogers and the twins will then arrive.

When Stark surreptitiously uploads JARVIS, who is still functional after evading Ultron deep inside the Internet, into the artificial body, the Avengers start fighting among themselves. One of the six Infinity Stones, which are the most potent items in existence, is on the body's brow, and Thor comes to assist in activating it, saying that it was a part of his vision.

The Maximoff twins and "Vision" (Paul Bettany), who has already proven himself a worthy ally by skillfully lifting Mjolnir, accompany the Avengers back to Sokovia, where Ultron has constructed a device to lift a significant portion of the capital city into the air with the intention of crashing it into the ground and bringing the entire planet to an end. Romanoff forces Banner into a pit in order to rouse the Hulk for the fight, and Banner saves him.

While Fury, Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle), and other SHIELD operatives arrive in a helicarrier to evacuate the citizens, the Avengers engage Ultron's army of drones. Wanda agrees to take on the responsibility of protecting the device from Ultron's drones activation while the other Avengers head to assist with the evacuation. Ultron, however, takes the Quinjet from the Avengers and launches a frantic strafing run to halt the exodus.

When Pietro protects Barton from Ultron's bullets, he is killed. Ultron is forcibly removed from the Quinjet by the Hulk, leaving him open to attack by a vengeful Wanda who leaves her position to destroy Ultron's main body. The gadget can then be turned on by one of his drones as a result. The Vision flies in to save Wanda as the city starts to fall, but Stark and Thor overload the device and destroy the landmass. The Vision meets Ultron's final body and obliterates it while the Hulk leaves the Quinjet since he doesn't want to put Romanoff in risk by sticking with her.

Later, the Avengers built a new base under the direction of Fury, Hill, Cho, and Selvig. Barton goes back to his family's house, Thor goes back to Asgard to find out more about the forces he believes are behind the recent events, and Stark also departs the Avengers. Rogers and Romanoff are ready to indoctrinate James Rhodes, the Vision, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Wanda into the new Avengers team.

In a scene during the credits, angry with the shortcomings of his minions, Thanos dons the Infinity Gauntlet and makes a personal commitment to find the Infinity Stones.
